We’re proud to share that our 2022 Rosella’s Vineyard and 2022 Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noirs have been featured on three Top 100 Wines of the Year lists by leading wine publications. 

2022 was a challenging year in the vineyard, and the team put in extraordinary work to see it through. Looking at what's in the bottle now, it's clear those efforts paid off. That kind of result doesn't happen without dedication in the hard moments, and we're incredibly proud of what this vintage became.

Rosella's Vineyard holds a special place for our family. It was the first we planted, and it surrounds our home, so seeing it recognized this way never gets old. This is the second time Rosella's has earned a Top 100 spot, following Wine Spectator's nod to the 2012 vintage over a decade ago. Garys', our second vineyard, has now been awarded a Top 100 placement four times. We couldn't be more proud of what these two sites continue to give us.

2022 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir
"From a cooler site in the middle of the SLH appellation, the 2022 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard offers more mulberry and wild strawberry fruit as well as a beautiful core of sappy flowers, violets, and underbrush. I love its overall purity and precision, and it's medium-bodied, has ripe, polished tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It's up with the creme de la creme of the appellation, and it's going to have at least 10-12 years of prime drinking. It benefits from air if drinking any time soon." Jeb Dunnuck

"From a vineyard named after the region’s pioneering pair of Garys, this utterly satisfying bottling begins with aromas that blend umami-focused hints of soy, shiitake and smoke with fresh fruit and flower scents. Solidly chalky in texture, the palate delivers Bing cherry and pure blackberry flavors cut by steady acidity." Matt Kettmann

2022 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir
"Hailing from one of the premier sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands, planted in 1996, the 2022 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is flat-out gorgeous. Beautifully rendered, it boasts generous fruit density, crystal-clear delineation of flavors and bracing structure. Fully destemmed, the 2022 finishes with a ton of persistence in its dark berry flavors, even darker cherry, black licorice and black sage. The 2022 leaves behind a fine web of powdery tannins, neatly wrapped up with a little bow on top, concentrated, effusive, and ready to rock. What a complete package. This may be the red wine of the vintage in the SLH." Billy Norris

And, unsurprisingly, the 2022 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard takes the cake as the wine of the vintage—a complete wine in every sense."
