2009 ROAR Garys' Pinot Noir

93pts 2009 ROAR Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard, Santa Lucia Highlands
The 2009 Pinot Noir Garys’ is an overt, juicy Pinot, with less in the way of aromatic complexity but more fruit than the Rosella’s, largely owing to the warmer microclimate here. Sensual and caressing through to the finish, the Garys’ bottling is another stunningly beautiful wine from Roar. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2019

92pts 2009 ROAR Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands Garys' Vineyard Rich and layered, with firm yet supple mineral, plum, cherry, blackberry and strawberry rhubarb flavors that are slow to unfold, gaining depth and dimension. Drink now through 2020.

92pts 2009 ROAR Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands Garys' Vineyard A big Pinot Noir, explosive in cherry and raspberry fruit, but no mere fruit bomb. The tannins are thick and interesting, there's plenty of zesty acidity, and there's something minerally and tangy from the soil. Drink this wine now and over the next 6 - 8 years, as it gradually ages.
94pts 2009 ROAR Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands Garys' Vineyard This latest vintage of Garys' Pinot from ROAR is packed with flavor intensity, from the first whiff of raspberry, strawberry and spice on the nose through the leafy, earthy middle palate, all the way to the slightly tart finish that has a bit of welcome bite.
PINOT REPORT 96pts 2009 ROAR Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands Garys' Vineyard Deep, silky, delicious Pinot with layers and layers of flavor. It's hard for me to pair this Pinot with something - it almost never lasts long enough. It has great structure for age and will reward your cellar patience.
